Over all the mountains
You will find the famous Rothaarsteig® just a few kilometers away, on the heights of the neighboring Rothaar ridge. The so-called Path of the Senses delights you with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and leads you from Dillenburg in Hesse to Brilon in the Sauerland (154 km) with a horizontal white "R" on a red background.

Cycling fun in the Lenne Valley
SauerlandRadring, Lenneroute or Bike-Arena Sauerland - these are just some of the many ways to experience the Lennestadt & Kirchhundem region by bike.
You can choose between leisurely cycling through the flat river valleys and the challenging routes of the Bike-Arena Sauerland, which can be explored by mountain bike.
Pleasure cycling in the Sauerland
Admittedly, there are mountains in the Sauerland and cycling is more strenuous than in the flatlands.
But who wants to cycle straight ahead all the time?
Take an active vacation
- You can enjoy peaceful fishing on the nearby Lenne river and at the "Lennetal" fishing pond near Gleierbrück (4 km). Five bodies of water are home to trout, salmon trout, carp, tench, catfish, and sturgeon. Please remember to bring your fishing license.
- You can (learn to) play golf 15 km away on the 18-hole course (PAR 72) of the Schmallenberg-Winkhausen golf club. In the climatic health resort of Saalhausen, just 2 km away, bowling alleys, mini golf, water treading pools and tennis courts provide active entertainment. And as a special highlight, the first natural adventure pool in NRW.
- The Saalhausen spa administration also organizes bus tours, slide shows, spa concerts, guest meetings, outdoor barbecues and chess evenings.
- In winter, perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails from the house and partially machine-snowed slopes just a few kilometers away invite you to enjoy winter sports.
- Discover the Sauerland by bus. Hike as far as your feet will take you and travel back comfortably and free of charge on public transport. Your guest card makes it possible. You can get it free of charge at our reception.
- The "Störmecke" bus stop is approximately 200 meters away.
- Lennestadt-Altenhundem train station 9 km.
